Evaluation of Questionnaire;

                       The questionnaire was completed smoothly; people were not hesitant towards answering in fact very enthusiastic which made it easier for me to have all 20 questionnaires completed and completed in a short matter of time as well , I think because I only had 12 questions benefited me because people were not reluctant to answer because it did not look ‘long’. A lot of people completing the questionnaire where aged based at 16 and a few in total where aged 17 – 19 which meant the answers should be around the same answer, due to teenagers being so socially influenced therefore they would share similar thoughts, which was a slight disadvantage because feedback was more general than helpful because I could also assume what the answers would be. The price range most wanted was less than £ 1 but I made it £ 1.50 because I thought would be too low of a price and also because quite a few chose the £2 option. For the best feature they liked in a magazine the feedback I got was college news so when I am making the contents page or title page I should try to include an exclusive college secret or topic of the week or month. A lot of people were prepared to pay for the college magazine more people than those who disagreed with paying and for that reasons its not going to be free because people don’t mind paying for there college magazine, I also have to make the pictures I use very attractive and interesting because as part of my research I acknowledged that people are very amused and drawn to look at the pictures when they read a magazine. My magazine is going to be a4 print because a lot of students prefer it that size. My questionnaire was very useful as opposed to getting obvious answers because I would of thought they would not be willing to pay where as they didn’t mind also I know what to include because it would attract readers , than basing it on what I like seeing .

A Magazine Cover Anaylsis

   This college front cover just from the first glance and without even reading the title portrays a sense of youth already because of the model physical appearance. the visual branding of the title the master head has been designed to automatically grab attention hence the fact that it is bright yellow and bold and has been placed on a grey/black background, even though some letters of the master head has been placed behind the models head it has been made obvious by what is on the rest of the page and how the word “college” has been arranged that we automatically assume it says college.
     There are many cover lines used in on this front cover, like the master head all the cover lines are used in the same colour, to stand out from the rest of the text on the page, they are also things that would attract the target audience to want to buy or read it this one says “college couture” “make money on campus” and “thank God its Fridays” On this cover page there are also over lines that attracts audience that are in bold as well but a white colour. The main cover line has two parts to it, the main cover line says “dancehalls bright future” thick bright and yellow text and is followed by an explanatory line which for this college magazines explains who it may be by which is self explanatory itself. The good thing about these cover lines are that they actually would interest the target audience because it would fully relate to the college activities taking place throughout the college also if it related to one of their subjects or something they liked doing like ‘making money’ or they had a blackberry and wanted to read into depth on the article about ‘why it’s all the rage on campus’ then this technique used on the front page would be good, because its attracting buyers and increasing population of readers.
    On the front page of this magazine the month and year the magazine was published is not shown, but on the other hand a barcode has been placed unusually vertically placed so that the magazine can be registered quickly when purchased, under the barcode the prices is there this enables people to identity quickly what the price is instead of having to go to the till and check and the whole process before certainty of purchase.
   This college magazine’s selling line is “YOUR EXCLUSIVE GUIDE TO EVERYTHING HIP HOP & HAPPENING” this selling line is effective because it’s short and simple and gets the message across, the magazines marketing point out to people straight away. The words “splat let’s go paintballing” has been presented in puff to get the audience to be enthusiastic about it and also so they don’t miss it out n the page.
   The main cover image on the magazine cover page is a male model this would attract the opposite sex maybe because he is also a young man and this had probably worked effectively to fit, so he is on there to portray he is one of them, he relates to them. This might even attract people in a bigger sense because if they are attending college, they might think in the mind frame that because he looks mature and sophisticated, they would think along the line that college isn’t for play it’s a serious thing and it could of been part of the editorial philosophy in portraying this main image it should have this effect.
